By JULIE PACE, Associated Press – 1 hour ago
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is expecting at least one birthday greeting when he turns 50 on Thursday.
"By the time I wake up, I'll have an email from AARP asking me to call President Obama and tell him to protect Medicare," Obama joked during a fundraiser in Chicago on the eve of his birthday.
Obama's big birthday comes just days after he reached a deal with Republicans to raise the nation's debt ceiling and avert a calamitous government default. While the mood around the White House hasn't exactly been festive since the deal was reached — Obama didn't get much of what he wanted — there will be plenty of celebration there Thursday for the president's 50th.

The Indonesian economy probably sustained its pace of growth last quarter as the nation’s central bank averted the interest-rate increases that have contributed to a slowdown in neighbors across Asia.
Gross domestic product climbed 6.5 percent from a year earlier, compared with 6.46 percent in January through March, according to the median of 16 estimates in a Bloomberg News survey before tomorrow’s release of the data.

Other gases besides CO2 add to warming

⊆ 15:09 by Unknown | , , . | ˜ 0 comments »

WASHINGTON, Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Climate change could be modified by lowering emissions of other greenhouse gases in addition to carbon dioxide, U.S. researchers say.

A study by scientists at the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration found that cutting emissions of other gases, including methane and nitrous oxide, could slow anticipated changes in climate.

"We know that recent climate change is primarily driven by carbon dioxide emitted during fossil-fuel combustion, and we know that this problem is going to be with us a long time because carbon dioxide is so persistent in the atmosphere," NOAA scientist Stephen Montzka said. "But lowering emissions of greenhouse gases other than carbon dioxide could lead to some rapid changes for the better."

Some of the other chemicals have shorter lifetimes than CO2 in the atmosphere so reducing their emissions would quickly reduce their warming influence, the researchers said in a NOAA release Wednesday.

Cutting all long-lived non-CO2 greenhouse gas emissions by 80 percent could reduce their climate warming effect substantially within a couple of decades, they said.

"The long-term necessity of cutting carbon dioxide emissions shouldn't diminish the effectiveness of short-term action. This paper shows there are other opportunities to influence the trajectory of climate change," NOAA researcher James Butler said. "Managing emissions of non-carbon dioxide gases is clearly an opportunity to make additional contributions."

Mubarak pleads innocent to murder charges

⊆ 14:51 by Unknown | , , , . | ˜ 0 comments »

BEIJING, Aug. 4 (Xinhuanet) -- Egypt's former President Hosni Mubarak has pleaded innocent to charges of corruption and complicity in the killing of protesters who toppled his government.

During Wednesday's historic trial, Mubarak lay in a cage on a hospital bed, a sheet pulled up to his chest. He has denied the accusations against him.

Judge: "You have heard the charges brought to you by the public Prosecution. What do you say?"

Mubarak: "I deny all these accusations completely."

The spectacle, aired live on state television, was the biggest humiliation for Egypt's former president since his ousting nearly six months ago after 18 days of unrest.

It was the first time Egyptians have seen Mubarak since February the 10th, when he gave a defiant TV address refusing to resign.

Mubarak is charged with being an accomplice along with his then-interior minister in the intentional and premeditated murder of peaceful protesters.

He and his sons are also accused of receiving gifts from a prominent businessman in return for guaranteeing him a lowered price in a land deal with the state.

The judge trying Mubarak says the court will reconvene to hear the case of the former president on August 15th.

He adds Mubarak will be moved from a hospital on the Red Sea to one near Cairo.

⊆ 14:40 by Unknown | , , . | ˜ 0 comments »

Are you having an old fashioned html-coded website?
Are you getting tired of asking your web-developer to make changes for your website instead of being able to make the changes yourself? Is your web-developer telling you he is busy and it will take some time for them to add the changed? And especially, are you tired of paying the bills after your web-developer has done the changes? Or are you perhaps just considering opening new website to the internet? If you say YES to any of these questions then this is for you!

Why not choose html-coded website?
The difference of old fashioned html-coded website and Content Management System (CSM) is the possibility to edit and add Internet website content without knowing html-code. While there are still those supporting making your Internet website from scratch it is definitely outdated way of doing Internet website! Why? It takes more time and money to code everything by yourself (or by web-developer). And time and money is what most of us do not have excess. Also using html-coded website means you are dependent on the web-developer or someone with ability to edit html-code. But what are you options? Why choose Joomla Content Management System?

Ubuntu: The desktop Linux with the cloud inside

⊆ 12:43 by Unknown | , , , , . | ˜ 0 comments »

By Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols | August 1, 2011, 4:33pm PDT

Summary: Who needs Live Mesh, YouSendIt, or Dropbox when desktop Ubuntu Linux comes with its own built-in free cloud file and music-streaming client and service?
Things can get really confusing when you start working with cloud-computing but we can all agree that having cloud file-storage is a good thing. It’s just so much easier to keep files in a universal storage box in the sky than worrying about whether you put the right USB drive in your laptop bag when you left for work. At this time though only one mainstream desktop operating system comes with the cloud built-in: Ubuntu.
Instead of having to use an extra service, like Windows with Live Mesh; wait for Apple to get iCloud deployed; or use a third-party services, such as YouSendIt orDropbox, Ubuntu’s been coming with Ubuntu One, it’s built-in cloud file client and service, since Ubuntu 9.10 was released in October 2009.
Ubuntu One, which recently passed the one-million user mark, has had some recent improvements. These have made it much more useful. For those who prefer more storage, which is pretty much everyone, Ubuntu One Basic, the free service, has changed its name to Ubuntu One Free and it now comes with 5GBs of free storage Instead of 2GBs.

Google+ Fastest Growing Social Network Ever, ComScore Study Says

⊆ 12:32 by Unknown | , , . | ˜ 0 comments »

The Google+ project, launched on June 28, is now the fastest growing social network ever with over 25 million members, according to a report from Web tracking firm comScore.
Google+ has, so far, out-paced the meteoric rise of sites like Facebook, Twitter and Myspace, comScore vice president for industry analysisAndrew Lipsman told the AFP.
The site is also catching on globally with significant membership in India, Britain, Canada, and Germany, according to the study. A July 2011 comScore studyfound that Google+ had attracted "20 million visitors in 21 days" and that the United States was home toapproximately 5.3 million Google+ users. India was the country with the second-highest number of users on Google+, with 2.8 million members from India.
All good signs, but the big question for Google+ remains whether it can make a permanent dent in the social networking world.
Tech fans have closely followed the rise of Google+ during the past 5 weeks, trying to determine whether the social network will succeed amid a flurry of mixed reports--and staunch competition from the likes of Facebook, which has over 750 million members.
For example, PCMag on July 28 reported that Google+ traffic had begun to drop, but a Google spokesman quickly countered the report, tellingPCMag that Hitwise's data was merely a "blip on the radar."
According to Mashable, comScore's data apparently conflicts with Hitwise's report. Writes Mashable:
Prior to comScore's most recent study, the consensus about Google+'s success has been mixed.
In July, SocialStatistics.com released a stat that claimed roughly nine out of ten Google+ users were male. This prompted Business Insider to issue the following warning: "GOOGLE+ WILL EVENTUALLY FAIL unless it attracts something it doesn't yet have: women." However, two days later, All Things D countered that stat, writing, "[N]ew analysis performed by Paul Allen of FamilyLink and Ancestry.com shows a very different gender balance. Using a method he calls 'surname-based random sampling,' with which he correctly predicted Google+’s 10 million member milestone, Allen found Google+ to be 66.4 percent male and 33.6 percent female."
The social networking site also drew ire from its users after Google deleted accounts due to doubts over their authenticity. In some cases, real users who had used a pseudonym when setting up their Google+ profile saw their accounts closed, much to their dismay.

Asal Usul Dan Sejarah Al-Qur'an Kitab Suci Agama Islam - Kaskus - The Largest Indonesian Community

⊆ 12:13 by Unknown | , , , . | ˜ 0 comments »

Al-Qur’ān (Arab: القرآن ) adalah kitab suci agama Islam.

Durasi Berpuasa Di Berbagai Dunia

2. Perth (Australia Barat): imsak pukul 5:42 dan berbuka puasa pada pukul 17:41 (Berpuasa selama 11 jam 59 menit)
